In these dreary winter days, there is one yard that is still showing signs of life. George Burriss’s home at 1523 McCoy has blooming pansies and cabbages that have survived the December ice storm. The flower beds are outlined with a stacked stone border and there is accent lighting in the beds and around the yard.

There is a mature crepe myrtle out front, as well as a holly tree flanking the fireplace chimney. The flower beds have lilies, horse tail, wandering ivy and rose bushes that will all be thriving come spring.

When you have time, check out this yard that has survived this winter’s harsh chill.
