Anna and Doug Wilson at 1402 Pecos St. have been awarded the Yard of the Month for April. With help from landscape architect, Buddy Mullino, they have created a striking xeriscape for their corner lot property.
With several Live Oaks anchoring the setting, they created a side landscape using flagstone pavers, a bed of river rock, and crushed decomposed granite covering the exposed ground. Helebores are the plants at the base of the trees, Variegated Pittosporum are the shrubs along the house wall and Adagio Miscanthus ( ornamental grass ) surrounds the transformer. With a ground cover of Chocolate Chip Ajuga, there is Russian Sage and Salvias planted throughout adding color.
When taking a walk or jog through the park, take a short detour and check out the newly landscaped corner at Pecos and Bryan St.
