The Dallas Police Department provides information on individual crime reports and citywide crime statistics that can be easily obtained on the internet. Anyone can access the
- Individual crime reports — Bryan Place reporting areas are 2025 and 2026
- General crime statistics — Bryan Place is included in beat #154
In my review of the crime reports over the last six months, about half of the crime in Bryan Place is theft of personal items out of parked vehicles (smash and grab). Extra care and vigilance is recommended for personal items left visible in your parked vehicle. Security experts suggest the following precautions:
- Keep your vehicle locked at all times.
- Make sure valuables are hidden away from view, locked in the trunk or even better, secured inside your home.
- Whenever possible, park off the street and in a well‐lit area designated for parking.
- Consider a car alarm system.
- Never leave an unattended vehicle running.
Another contributor to crime statistics in our area is theft of property from front porches and open garages. Avoid thefts of opportunity. Opportunity theft is the direct result of property and valuables left unattended and are the most preventable crimes that occur. Take a minute to secure your property and help encourage criminals to bypass our community.
As always, please call 911 to report any suspicious activity and include as many details in a description of the person, clothing and vehicle as possible. When you call the police, you do not have to give your name and you do not have to have a police officer come to your home. The police need our help in keeping our community safe and will use this information to evaluate the need for additional patrols in your immediate neighborhood.
