By now most of you are aware of the necessary tree trimming taking place in the neighborhood. I know that many of you are concerned about the effect of tree trimming on the appearance of our neighborhood. Jose Ruiz, our Code Enforcement Officer, is working with us to minimize any radical cutting of the trees while achieving the necessary clearance for the Fire Department trucks. This is a case where we need to balance our safety with the aesthetics of our environment. So the guidance provided is to trim to 12 ft. over the center of the streets where there is smooth cement, but taper to 8 ft. over the patterned portion of the street. Any qualified tree service that employs a certified arborist will be able to provide the necessary trimming on interior streets without damaging the trees and hopefully preserve our beautiful neighborhood.
NOTE: only Oncor and specially State‐licensed companies can trim trees close to power lines.
The Code Department will examine the completed work by October 19, so you still have time to engage a qualified tree service.
