Woodard Automotive on Ross Avenue was demolished in May to clear the way for a planned development by Trammel Crow.
The automotive repair garage was the center of controversy for the area when special zoning became an issue for the historic business.
Eventually a compromise was reached in 2010 allowing them to stay a while longer. Woodard sold to the developer and this has now become the second new apartment complex on Ross Avenue near Bryan Place after the Icon On Ross opened in 2012.
