Kroger’s Fresh Fare store, which emphasizes fresh and prepared foods, will be completed next summer at North Haskell Avenue and Capitol Avenue in a development called Cityville Cityplace across from Cityplace Target. The Kroger store will sit back from Haskell, all the way to Peak, behind the bank. 356 apartments and an LA Fitness will be most visible from Haskell.
A surge in area population growth over the past 10 years allowed Kroger to move ahead with the store, said Bill Breetz, president of Kroger’s Southwest division. The Kroger Fresh Fare store will have both an executive chef and a pastry chef on staff and will stock organic and glutenfree foods that people need for health reasons, he said. The store will also include a selection of international foods “to reflect the ethnic diversity in the neighborhood.”
