Fewer Bryan Place voters participated in the June 15 run off election than in the May 11th general election. Philip Kingston was elected as our District 14 council member over Bryan Place resident, Bobby Abtahi. He was sworn in June 24. The race was close at times with Abtahi overwhelming winning the Precinct 3009 votes, which includes Bryan Place. Only 217 votes were cast from our precinct in the run off, 21 votes less than the general election. Voter turnout was predicted to be low. With the new council in place, we hope that issues close to Bryan Place will get attention. Kingston is making plans to attend a BPNA meeting.
