There was a good turnout for the Bryan Place Neighborhood Association spring general meeting on April 26th.

Neighbors packed the pool clubhouse to hear a discussion by representatives from Dallas City Hall and Halff Associates, Inc. about problems with the current storm water drainage system that can lead to flooding in Bryan Place.

Maps detailing flood prone areas were reviewed, planned relief systems highlighted, and the importance of the 2012 bond package was discussed. The presentation is available online at http://www.dallascityhall.com/council_briefings/briefings0112/Mill-Peak_010412.pdf .

Afterwards, neighbor and author, Mark Doty, gave a presentation on his new book “Lost Dallas” highlighting old photographs from East Dallas and Bryan Place. The meeting went a few minutes longer than scheduled, but most everyone was still glued in their seats when the meeting adjourned.
