Year 2015 is underway, and it is time again to renew your Bryan Place Neighborhood Association (BPNA) membership. Many of you are faithful supporters of the neighborhood, and for that we are all grateful. But we need all of you who live in Bryan Place to help us make this the best neighborhood possible.
Many of you see caring for the environment as a part of your stewardship responsibilities. But sometimes caring for the earth seems too big to tackle. So let’s start with our individual home and neighborhood. This neighborhood has been entrusted to your care, so help us manage it. Your $50 membership fee gives you a big value for less than $1 a week.
One of the most important functions of BPNA is representing you at City Hall. Dallas continues to grow and change. Growth is necessary in order to keep our City a vibrant place to live. But we also want growth that enhances our daily lives rather than out‐of‐control growth that deteriorates our quality of life. Our City Council representative, Phillip Kingston, is much attuned to neighborhood organizations. Your BPNA Board of Directors is a collective voice that represents your concerns to him. We particularly focus on areas of growth, development, parking, and traffic control that could affect our neighborhood directly over both the short‐ and the long term.
Your $50 also provides more immediate benefits. We provide opportunities for social interon with your neighbors that create a sense of belonging. Among the annual activities are the regular Dinners on the Town, Semi‐annual membership meetings to keep you informed, the Holiday Party, the monthly Newsletters, and the Web site. A visible daily reminder of your $50 at work, is the maintained landscaping at the Skiles entrance and the Pavillion/Bryan corner. Those are common areas that would be unsightly if not for BPNA and your membership dues.
You benefit in all these ways and more, even if you are a member of an HOA inside Bryan Place. Please send in your dues this month. Your $50 keeps Bryan Place safe, beautiful and a wonderful place to live. Please contribute.
